LinkedIn Introduces New Resources for Veterans

In a posting on the LinkedIn blog earlier this month, Deep Nishar, Senior Vice President, Products & User Experience at LinkedIn, explained how LinkedIn’s vision of creating “economic opportunity for every professional” extends to veterans. Nishar blogs that LinkedIn will be taking three steps to connect veterans with civilian careers.

  • First, LinkedIn will be tagging job postings that could be filled by veterans to enable the postings to appear on the newly-launched Veteran’s Job Bank (see our 11/9 post).
  • Second, LinkedIn has launched a microsite for veterans with tips, tools, and information on the best ways to find new opportunities across the LinkedIn network.
  • Third, LinkedIn is offering all U.S. veterans a free one-year Job Seeker subscription. All veterans with updated military experience on their profiles should have received an email with more information on how to take advantage of this offer.
