Fort Hood Military Hiring Event

Orion recently pledged its support to Joining Forces, the White House initiative aimed to improve career opportunities to Veterans and their families, and subsequently announced the Fort Hood Military Hiring Event being held March 8 and 9. This event is the very first of its kind, and is co-sponsored by The White House Joining Forces initiative to Hire Veterans, the Fort Hood Command Group, and Orion.

According to Mike Starich, President of Orion International, “We are very proud to be co-sponsoring this inaugural military hiring event in partnership with the Fort Hood ACAP and the Joining Forces initiative, and look forward to connecting Fort Hood soldiers with rewarding civilian career opportunities.” This event is unique in that it is not a job fair where candidates could spend a day talking with several dozen employers without any interview. For this event, registered participants will be matched attending client companies and provided with guidance on how to prepare for their interviews. Each client company is committed to hiring multiple job seekers from this event, and it is Orion’s goal that candidates will have an offer of employment within two weeks following this event.

Clients will be interviewing for positions including Equipment Operator, Mechanic, Mechanical Supervisor, Packaging Technician, Team Lead, Production Supervisor, Conductor Trainee, Foreman, and Warehouse Supervisor. We is looking for transitioning Military Leaders with an Honorable Discharge who are willing to relocate and are available to begin anew career prior to July 1, 2012. A few of the companies with which positions will be available include Honeywell, Schlumberger, Kansas City Southern Railroad, Scotts Miracle-Gro, US Environmental Services, Hess, Dollar General, Allied Wire, and many others.
