Orion Recruiter Sultan Camp Featured in Latest Edition of "Knock 'em Dead"

Author Martin Yate has recently added to his continuing series of books, Knock ‘Em Dead, with Knock 'em Dead - Secrets & Strategies for First-Time Job Seekers. This particular book focuses on the needs of first-time job seekers and can be particularly relevant to transitioning service members who have never interviewed before. As a series, these job search and career-management books have been a mainstay of any job seeker's library for the last 25 years.

As part of his newest book, Yate sought the advice of various career search professionals, including Orion Recruiter Sultan Camp. A Navy veteran, Sultan joined the Orion team with extensive experience in career and social media consulting. Sultan’s participation in Knock ‘em Dead came about after he read Knock ‘em Dead - Secrets & Strategies for Success in an Uncertain World. He connected with Yate on LinkedIn by contributing to Yate’s LinkedIn group regularly, especially regarding the use of Social Media in a job search.

“After a few conversations, Martin reached out to me and asked if I was interested in being a contributor on his ‘Panel of Experts’ in his upcoming book. I agreed and submitted my input for the topics that he requested. The only condition that Martin had was that the advice be candid and relevant,” recalls Sultan, “I was absolutely surprised that I was quoted five times in the book.”

Sultan’s advice covers issues like using hashtags on Twitter to find jobs in your area, as well as what employers are looking for in a prospective employee. Sultan tells readers, “Employers decide whether or not they want to work with you over the next few years. They hire people they like.”
