Recruiter Spotlight: Keri Price

Keri Price joined the Orion team after five years of active duty service as a Commissioned Officer in the Army. She graduated from Texas State University and commissioned out of Army ROTC. Keri attended the Adjutant General Officer Basic Course at Ft. Jackson, SC, and was then assigned to the 49th Quartermaster Group at Ft. Lee, VA.

During her tenure at Ft. Lee, Keri served as a Petroleum Supply Platoon Leader, Battalion S1, Brigade Strength Manager, and Brigade S1. She deployed to Haiti in early 2010 as a Battalion S1 in support of Operation Unified Response. After returning from her deployment, Keri served as the Brigade Strength Manager and inactivated ten companies. After serving as the Brigade S1 and Adjutant, Keri decided to begin her transition out of the military in order to focus more on her family.

She works with candidates who are four to 18 months from transitioning out of the military in the South Central, West, or Northwest regions.

If you could give just one piece of career advice to a transitioning military professional, what would it be?

#1 Get to an Orion Hiring Conference. I was a candidate before I joined the Orion team, and an Orion Hiring Conference is an outstanding event. You will have interviews with great companies that are a match for your career needs.

#2 Prepare. Visit our Transition Corner, and utilize its resources. You can sign up for interview prep webinars, access sample interview questions, etc. Work through some questions prior to the interview and have a general direction that you want to go in. (i.e. What examples are you going to give to specific questions). If you have thought through some of these questions prior to the interview, you can spend more time building a relationship in the interview. Sign up for a mock interview with me or another recruiter. We are here as a resource for you and will make sure you are set up for success.

What do you like most about working at Orion?

The recruiters for Orion really show you the opportunities that fit your preferences. Every recruiter that works for Orion is prior military. We have all made that transition at some point and understand what it feels like. We are here to make your transition as smooth as possible.

What industries are you seeing lots of success in right now?

For the South Central region, oil & gas has lots of great opportunities, as well as the companies that support that industry, like manufacturing or distribution.

Please share one interesting fact about yourself that you would like candidates to know.

I am a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan! Two things were important to me when making my transition. My family and the Dallas Cowboys. Orion got me close to both!
