Patriot Challenge 5K in Raleigh Surpasses Donation Goal

The Orion offices continue to shine with the 5K events, and the Patriot Challenge 5K for the Veteran Low to High Challenge hosted by the Raleigh office held Saturday, September 20th did not disappoint! The office is projecting $16,753 (with a goal of $10,000!) for our partner non-profit Veteran organizations, with 268 runners in attendance. Personal donations have continued to come in throughout the week!

Highlights include members of Rolling Thunder that led runners along the road for a portion of the course, the post-race raffle drawing with over $1,000 in prizes, and the USVC ArchAngels Rappel Team as they rappelled from the Koka Booth Amphitheatre light towers!

The day’s events were received well by runners, volunteers, and spectators alike, with overwhelming positive feedback and a wish that the race will become a yearly event.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, especially to the sponsors – Grifols, L&E Research, Leith Volkswagen of Cary, Get Spiffy, GreenShoot Group, Omega Sports, Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Starbucks, 2 Cups Green Tea Hawaii, Armor Investment Advisors, Burt & Associates, Caribou Coffee, Computer Geeks, Diamonds Direct Crabtree, Digitel Services, Dr. Ira Tucker, McGladrey LLP, Safe Ride Home, Debbie Leggett State Farm, Cary NC, and WingSwept!

It is our goal to raise $100K+ for our partner Veterans Organizations through the Veteran Low to High Challenge and through 5K Run / Walk Races in each of the cities in which we have an Orion office – Austin, TX; Cincinnati, OH; Raleigh, NC; Virginia Beach, VA; and San Diego, CA.

The next 5K race to help support our Veteran non-profit organizations will be held on Saturday, November 8th in San Diego, CA.
