WalletHub’s data team compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on 40 key indicators of family-friendliness across five key dimensions: Family Fun, Health & Safety, Education & Child Care, Affordability, and Socioeconomics. Their data set ranged from “median family salary” to “housing affordability” to “unemployment rate.”
Not only is the Northeast a great area of the country to live and raise a family, but these states offer many perks, including affordable housing, good schools, flourishing job markets, low child care costs, and boast some of the highest median salaries.
